WARNING:
Vehicle is equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. When servicing vehicle, use care to avoid accidental air bag deployment. SIR system-related components are located in various locations throughout interior of vehicle, depending on application. Do not use electrical test equipment on or near these circuits. NOTE:
Toyota service calls the keyless entry system a Wireless Door Lock Control System.
Keyless entry system allows all doors and luggage compartment to be locked and unlocked by the use of a remote hand-held transmitter. All keyless entry functions are controlled through the body control Electronic Control Unit (body control ECU). A wireless door lock control receiver communicates with remote transmitters and relays information to body control ECU. Wireless door lock control receiver is protected by a DOME (7.5-amp) fuse located in driver side junction block. See Figure.
Depressing remote transmitter UNLOCK button once will unlock driver door. Depressing remote transmitter UNLOCK button again within 3 seconds will unlock all doors. A period of 30 seconds is given to open any door after LOCK function with remote transmitter has been performed. If no door is opened within the 30-second delay, all doors will automatically lock again. Remote entry (LOCK/UNLOCK) functions will not operate if key is left in ignition switch or if any door is not securely closed.
