Supercharger Pressure

  1. Using 3-way connector, connect Pressure Gauge/Pump (SST 0992-00241) between intake manifold and fuel pressure regulator. See Fig 1. Connect tachometer to proper terminals. See IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE in ADJUSTMENTS article.
  2. Start engine and allow to idle. Apply brakes and parking brake. Shift transmission into Drive. Fully depress throttle until engine speed is 1900-2200 RPM and note supercharger pressure. Release throttle.
  3. Supercharger pressure should be at least 4 psi (.28 kg/cm2 ). If supercharger pressure is less than specified, check supercharger by-pass valve. See SUPERCHARGER BY-PASS valve under SUPERCHARGER. If supercharger by-pass valve is okay, check for damage to supercharger.
