Multi-Information Display Selector: Inspection

  1. Remove the airbag module from the steering wheel. Refer to REMOVAL , Driver's Airbag Module.
  2. Connect tester as shown in the figure, and measure the resistance between the terminals when pressing each switch.

    SWITCH RESISTANCE CHART

    Switch Resistance
    Not pressed. 1 MΩ or more
    Press ↑. 10MΩ or less
    Press i/SET. Approx. 1 kΩ
    Press ↓. Approx. 3.67 kΩ
  3. If resistance is out of specifications shown in the above table, a fault in switch is indicated. Replace the switch. Refer to REMOVAL , Multi-Information Display Selector.
