Emissions Maintenance Reminder Reset Procedure
Oxygen sensor (O2S) light will come on at 30, 000 mile intervals as a reminder to replace sensor. After replacing sensor, reset warning light as follows:
- On 911 models: Disconnect battery ground cable and remove speedometer. Counter will be visible through speedometer mounting hole. Using a thick piece of wire or a thin rod, press White reset button all the way in against stop. Ensure warning light is out.
- On 924 models: After replacing oxygen sensor and with vehicle still raised, locate mileage counter on left engine mount. Using a thick wire or thin metal rod, push in reset button all the way to stop. Ensure warning light is out.
- On 928 and 928S with CIS system: Counter is located to right of passenger seat floor (near door sill). Remove counter cover retaining screw and cover. Press reset button all the way in against stop. Ensure warning light is out.
