Diagnosis & Repair
- Connect scan tool to DLC. Turn ignition on. Select CLEAR INFORMATION function. Operate vehicle within FREEZE FRAME conditions. If DTC P0335 resets, go to next step. If DTC P0335 does not reset, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect CKP sensor. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance of CKP sensor. If resistance is 360-460 ohms at 68°F (20°C), go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace CKP sensor. Retest system.
- Disconnect PCM connectors. Check CKP sensor wires for open or short. Repair as necessary. Retest system. If wire are okay, go to next step.
- Check for poor connections at PCM and CKP sensor. Repair as necessary. Retest system. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Inspect CKP sensor and timing belt pulley for damaged teeth, incorrect installation, or foreign material. Repair as necessary. If no problems were found, replace PCM. Retest system.
