Information Center Test 2B - Low Oil Pressure Warning Light Malfunction
NOTE:
Perform INFORMATION CENTER TEST 2A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Disconnect Oil Pressure Switch (OPS). See OPS LOCATION table.OPS LOCATION
Engine Location 2.4L Side Of Block, Near Transaxle 3.0L Next To Oil Filter 3.3L & 3.8L Below A/C Compressor - Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 1 (Gray wire) on OPS connector. If oil warning light illuminates, replace OPS. If oil warning light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Access Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Remove BCM connector "B" cover. Do not disconnect connector. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 52 (Gray wire). If oil warning light illuminates, repair open Gray wire. If oil warning light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Disconnect BCM connector "A". Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 33 (Gray wire). If oil warning light illuminates, replace BCM. If oil warning light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Access information center connector. Do not disconnect connector. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 8 (Gray wire). If oil warning light illuminates, repair open Gray wire. If oil warning light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Disconnect information center connector. Remove and inspect oil warning light bulb from information center. Replace as needed. If light bulb is okay, replace information center.
