Test C: Seat Does Not Tilt Forward

  1. Disconnect front vertical adjuster motor harness connector C2. Connect a test light between positive battery voltage and front vertical adjuster motor harness connector terminal "B" (Dark Green wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  6 .
  2. Connect test light between ground and front vertical adjuster motor harness connector terminal "B" (Dark Green wire) while pressing seat adjuster switch to up position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  8 .
  3. Connect a test light between positive battery voltage and front vertical adjuster motor harness connector terminal "A" (Dark Blue wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  9 .
  4. Connect test light between ground and front vertical adjuster motor harness connector terminal "A" (Dark Blue wire). Press and hold seat adjuster switch to downward position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  8 .
  5. Check for poor terminal contact at front vertical adjuster motor harness connector. Repair connector terminal contact at connector as necessary. Recheck system operation. If terminal contact is okay, front vertical adjuster motor. See DRIVE MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  6. Check for open or high resistance in Dark Green wire between front vertical adjuster motor harness connector C3 and seat adjuster switch harness connector. If open or high resistance does not exist, go to next step. If open or high resistance exists, repair Dark Green wire as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  7. Check for poor terminal contact at seat adjuster switch connector. Repair connector terminal contact as necessary. Recheck system operation. If terminal contact is okay, replace seat adjuster switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  8. Check for short to ground in Dark Green wire between front vertical adjuster motor harness connector C3 and seat adjuster switch harness connector. Repair Dark Green wire as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation. If Dark Green wire is okay, replace seat adjuster switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  9. Check for open or high resistance in Dark Blue wire front vertical adjuster motor harness connector C3 and seat adjuster switch harness connector. If Dark Blue wire is okay, go to next step. If open or high resistance exists, repair Dark Blue wire as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
  10. Check for poor terminal contact at seat adjuster switch. Repair terminal contact at connector as necessary. If terminal contact is okay, replace seat adjuster switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
