Adding Oil

NOTE: Amount of oil to be installed in compressor is determined by amount of old oil drained from compressor and depends on whether system had been operated to stabilize the oil level (Compressor Operable) or if damage to system or compressor prevented this operation (Compressor Not Operable) as follows:
  1. Compressor Operable  - If amount of oil drained from compressor more than 4 ozs., install same amount of fresh oil (plus I oz. if overhauled compressor being installed). If amount drained less than 4 ozs., install 6 ozs. of fresh oil (plus I oz. if overhauled compressor being installed).
  2. Compressor Not Operable  - If amount of oil drained from compressor more than 11/2 ozs., install same amount of fresh oil (plus I oz, if overhauled compressor being installed). If amount drained is less than 11/2 ozs., install 6 ozs. of fresh oil (plus 1 oz. if overhauled compressor being installed).
