DTC 71: (Control Unit)

  1. Turn ignition Off. Disconnect ABS actuator/control unit 31 pin harness connector. Check terminals for damage or loose connections. If a problem is found, repair as necessary. Reconnect harness connector. Perform self-diagnostics again. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS  . Check ABS warning light. If ABS warning lamp stays on, go to next step. If ABS warning lamp does not stay on, system is okay.
  2. Check ABS actuator/control unit power supply circuit. See DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE NO. 3 (Power Supply/Low Voltage)  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If power supply circuit test as specified, or does not is not present, repair as necessary.
  3. Using scan tool, check for ABS related DTCs. If DTC resets, replace ABS actuator/control unit. If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
