Prepare Rear Window For Installation - Ar67.20-D-5145-03TS

  1. Remove adhesive residues from rear window.

    When reusing rear window.

    NOTES A maximum of 1 mm of adhesive residue may be left. Pull off loose adhesive material (remaining pieces which are not completely cut off).

    Prevents leakage.

    NOTES Model 907.6/7 with code H22 (heated rear window)

    Do not damage conductor tracks on rear window heater.

    Damage may lead to malfunctions or failure of the rear window heater.

  2. Clean rear window with commercially available glass cleaner.

    NOTES The bonding area on the rear window must be absolutely dry and free of dust and grease.

    Prevents paint adhesion problems when installing window.

  3. Check rear window for damage.

    If rear window is damaged

    ↓

    Replace rear window.

  4. Clean bonding area on rear window with cleaner and cleaning cloth contained in repair kit and wipe dry with dry cloth.

    When replacing rear window.

  5. Apply primer with slight pressure in one stroke and with sufficient coat thickness to the bonding area on the rear window.

    When replacing rear window.

    NOTES Do not brush on primer and do not apply excessive coat thickness. Observe flash-off time (at least 10 min).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
