Method adapted as per specifications.

Operation steps 2 to 15.

	Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contactwith fuel.	No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only. Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.	AS47.00-Z-0001-01A
	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
	Drain
1	Switch off auxiliary heater.	With code H11 (Hot-air auxiliary heater) or with code H12 (Hot-water auxiliary heater) or with code HZ9 (Heater booster)
2	Switch off ignition.
3	Remove engine cover.
		Place air filter housing to one side and reconnect the electrical connectors separated when removing the air filter housing. This prevents a fault code from being set.	AR01.10-D-2405TSR
4	Remove plug (3).	To do so, remove retaining ring (4).
5	Attach suitable hose to drain fitting (5).
6	Place a suitable container under the end of the hose.
7	Check leak tightness of hose connection on drain fitting (5).	To do so, briefly switch on ignition and then off again. Collect water/fuel mixture in suitable container.
8	Drain water/fuel mixture.	To do so, switch on ignition. Collect approx. 0.2 I of water/fuel mixture in a suitable container. The fuel pump switches off after 30 s.
9	Switch off ignition.
10	Detach hose from drain fitting (5).
11	Replace sealing ring (6) and install new plug (3) with new retaining ring (4).
12	Remove container with collected water/fuel mixture and hose from engine compartment.	Dispose of water/fuel mixture in an environmentally-compatible manner.
13	Check that indicator lamp of fuel filter switches off.	If the fuel filter indicator lamp does not go out, ↓ repeat draining process.	AP54.00-D-5451-01TS
14	Check for leak tightness of plug (3) with engine running.	Perform visual inspection only, then switch off engine.
15	Install engine cover.
