| 1 | Switch off auxiliary heater. | With code H11 (Hot-air auxiliary heater) or with code H12 (Hot-water auxiliary heater) or with code HZ9 (Heater booster) | |
| 2 | Switch off ignition. | ||
| 3 | Attach suitable hose to drain valve (2). | ||
| 4 | Place a suitable container under the end of the hose. | ||
| 5 | Open drain valve (2). | ||
| 6 | Check leak tightness of hose connection at drain valve (2). | Collect water/fuel mixture in suitable container. |

| 7 | Drain water/fuel mixture. | Collect approx. 0.2 I of water/fuel mixture in a suitable container. The fuel pump switches off after 30 s. |

| 8 | Switch off ignition. | ||
| 9 | Close drain valve (2). | ||
| 10 | Detach hose from drain valve (2). | ||
| 11 | Remove container with collected water/fuel mixture and hose from engine compartment. | ||
| 12 | Check that indicator lamp of fuel filter switches off. | If the fuel filter indicator lamp does not go out, ↓ repeat draining process. |
