Location 

The rear seat heater control unit is located on the right in the trunk.

Task 

The rear seat heater control unit has the following tasks:

• Reading in of signals 
• Evaluation of input factors 
• Actuation of components 
• Output of signals 

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connection:

• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Interior CAN 

The following signals are read in over the interior CAN:

• Status of left rear seat heater button (S51/3), transmitted by left rear door control unit (N69/3)
• Status of right rear seat heater button (S51/4), transmitted by right rear door control unit (N69/4)

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Actuation of components 

Components are actuated with the following connection:

• Direct line 

Direct line 

The following components are actuated via a direct line:

• Left rear seat surface heater pad (R13/5)
• Left rear backrest heater pad (R13/6)
• Right rear seat surface heater pad (R13/7)
• Right rear backrest heater pad (R13/8)

Output of signals 

The signals are output over the following connection:

• Interior CAN 

Interior CAN 

The following signals are transmitted via the interior CAN:

• Function feedback for left rear seat heater to left rear door control unit
• Function feedback for right rear seat heater to right rear door control unit
