| Detection condition |
- Any one of the following conditions is met:
- CAN communication line malfunction between EPS control module and PCM
- There is a malfunction in the EPS control module.

- DTCs are stored in the following modules. (CAN driver malfunction)
- EPS control module connector or terminals malfunction (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION
.)
- PCM connector or terminal malfunction (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION
.)
- EPS control module malfunction (Refer to STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
in the service information.)
- PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN M)
in the service information.)

| Repeatability verification procedure |
- Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC
.)
- Perform the KOEO or KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION
.)
