Removal [10/2015 - 03/2019]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2015 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [11/2017 - 03/2019]

  2. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [10/2015 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [11/2017 - 03/2019]

  3. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [10/2015 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2017 - 03/2019]

  4. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR 
    1. for Bank 1:
      1. Disengage the heated oxygen sensor grommet from the vehicle body.

      2. Using SST, disconnect the heated oxygen sensor from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).
        • SST: 09224-00011 
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to drop the heated oxygen sensor.

    2. for Bank 2:
      1. Remove the bolt.

      2. Disengage the heated oxygen sensor grommet from the vehicle body.

      3. Using SST, disconnect the heated oxygen sensor from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).
        • SST: 09224-00011 
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to drop the heated oxygen sensor.

  5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst) 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 nuts to disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    2. Remove the 4 bolts, 4 compression springs and front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    3. Remove the 4 exhaust pipe gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).
  6. DISCONNECT TAIL EXHAUST PIPE LH 
    1. Disconnect the tail exhaust pipe LH from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

      NOTE:

      Protect the rear bumper assembly using protection material such as a piece of cloth to avoid damage by the tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assemblies.

  7. DISCONNECT TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.
      NOTE:

      Protect the rear bumper assembly using protection material such as a piece of cloth to avoid damage by the tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assemblies.

  8. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE BAFFLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    • Perform this procedure only when replacement of the tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assembly is necessary.
    • If the tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assembly is removed, replace it with a new one.
    1. Using a plastic hammer, remove the 4 tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assemblies from the tail exhaust pipe assembly and tail exhaust pipe LH.
