Inspection Procedure

NOTE: First perform the communication function inspections in HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.
  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

      OK : 

      DTC B2402 output does not occur. 

    NG: GO TO  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART   ( ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

      OK : 

      DTC B2482 output does not occur. 

    NG: GO TO  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION 
    1. Check the malfunctioning clearance light.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Front (Clearance light, Front side marker light) A
      Rear (Taillight, Rear side marker light, License light) B
      Front (Clearance light, Front side marker light) and Rear (Taillight, Rear side marker light, License light) C

    B: Go to step   8 

    C: Go to step   17 

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (CLEARANCE LIGHT) 
    1. Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, perform the Active Test.
      1. Intelligent tester

        BODY NO. 5 

        INTELLIGENT TESTER - BODY NO. 5 SPECIFICATION

        CLEARANCE LIGHT Front clearance light illumination operation OFF - ON -
      2. Techstream

        OK : 

        Clearance light condition is switched by Active Test. 

    NG: Go to step   6 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. CHECK MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU (OPERATION) 
    1. Temporarily replace the multiplex network front light ECU with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check the clearance light operation.

      OK : 

      Clearance light operation is normal. 

    NG: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

    OK: END (REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU) 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU HEADLIGHT) 
    1. w/o Driver Monitor Camera:
      1. Disconnect the B14 ECU connector.
      2. Disconnect the B2 and B12 light connectors.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance: 

        for LH 

        MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU HEADLIGHT LH (W/O DRIVER MONITOR CAMERA)

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        B14-23 (CRAL) - B2-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
        B2-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
        B14-23 (CRAL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

        for RH 

        MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU HEADLIGHT RH (W/O DRIVER MONITOR CAMERA)

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        B14-15 (CRAR) - B12-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
        B12-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
        B14-15 (CRAR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    2. w/ Driver Monitor Camera:
      1. Disconnect the B14 ECU connector.
      2. Disconnect the B1 and B11 light connectors.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance: 

        for LH 

        MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU HEADLIGHT LH (W/DRIVER MONITOR CAMERA)

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        B14-23 (CRAL) - B1-8 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
        B1-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
        B14-23 (CRAL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

        for RH 

        MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU HEADLIGHT RH (W/DRIVER MONITOR CAMERA)

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        B14-15 (CRAR) - B11-8 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
        B11-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
        B14-15 (CRAR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  7. CHECK HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (OPERATION) 
    1. Temporarily replace the headlight with a new or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL  ).
    2. Check the clearance light operation.

      OK : 

      Clearance light operation is normal. 

    NG: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU 

    OK: END (REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY) (See  REMOVAL   ) 

  8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (TAILLIGHT) 
    1. Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, perform Active Test.
      1. Intelligent tester

        BODY NO. 4 

        INTELLIGENT TESTER - BODY NO. 4 SPECIFICATION

        TAIL LIGHT Taillight operation OFF - ON -
      2. Techstream

        Body No. 4 

        TECHSTREAM - BODY NO. 4 SPECIFICATION

        OK : 

        Taillight condition is switched by Active Test. 

    NG: Go to step   10 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  9. CHECK OPERATION LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 
    1. Temporarily replace the luggage room junction block with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check the clearance light operation.

      OK : 

      Clearance light operation is normal. 

    NG: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

    OK: END (REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 

  10. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION 
    1. Check the malfunctioning light.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Rear combination light A
      Rear light B
      License plate light C

    B: Go to step   13 

    C: Go to step   15 

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S64 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the S51 and S52 light connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance: 

      for LH 

      REAR COMBINATION LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S64-3 (TIL2) - S51-3 (TL) Always Below 1 Ω
      S51-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S64-3 (TIL2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for RH 

      REAR COMBINATION LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S64-7 (TIL1) - S52-3 (TL) Always Below 1 Ω
      S52-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S64-7 (TIL1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  12. CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (TIL1, TIL2 VOLTAGE) 
    1. Disconnect the S64 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (TIL1, TIL2 VOLTAGE)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 (TIL2) - Body ground Headlight dimmer switch TAIL 11 to 14 V
      7 (TIL1) - Body ground Headlight dimmer switch TAIL 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 

    OK: REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL   ) 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the S33 and S41 light connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance: 

      for LH 

      REAR LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S63-14 (TIL3) - S33-2 (11 P) Always Below 1 Ω.
      S33-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S63-14 (TIL3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      for RH 

      REAR LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S63-13 (TIL4) - S41-2 (T/ P) Always Below 1 Ω
      S41-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S63-13 (TIL4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  14. CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (TIL3, TIL4 VOLTAGE) 
    1. Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (TIL3, TIL4 VOLTAGE

      13 (TIL4) - Body ground Headlight dimmer switch TAIL 11 to 14 V
      14 (TIL3) - Body ground Headlight dimmer switch TAIL 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 

    OK: REPLACE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL   ) 

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LICENSE PLATE LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the S37 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      LICENSE PLATE LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S63-15 (LCE2) - S37-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      S37-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S63-15 (LCE2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  16. CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (LCE2 VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the S63 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTIN BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (LCE2 VOLTAGE)

      15 (LCE2) - Body ground Headlight dimmer switch TAIL 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 

    OK: REPLACE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL   ) 

  17. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH) 
    1. Using the intelligent tester or Techstream, read the Data List.
      1. Intelligent tester

        COMBI SW 

        INTELLIGENT TESTER - COMBI SW

    NG: REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL   ) 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  18. CHECK WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH (OPERATION) 
    1. Temporarily replace the windshield wiper switch with a new or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL ).
    2. Check the clearance light operation.

      OK : 

      Clearance light operation is normal. 

    NG: Go to step 19 

    OK: END (REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH)  (See REMOVAL )

  19. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION 
    1. Check the malfunctioning light.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Front (Clearance light) A
      Rear (Taillight, License light) B

    B: Go to step   21 

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  20. CHECK MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU (OPERATION) 
    1. Temporarily replace the multiplex network front light ECU with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check the clearance light operation.

      OK : 

      Clearance light operation is normal. 

    NG: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

    OK: END (REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT LIGHT ECU) 

  21. CHECK OPERATION LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 
    1. Temporarily replace the luggage room junction block with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check the clearance light operation.

      OK : 

      Clearance light operation is normal. 

    NG: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

    OK: END (REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)
