SITUATION

"HIDDEN TOOLS" IN RADIO PROGRAM

There are a number of informational and setting tools programmed into the Alpine radio systems used in 1999 and later Land Rover vehicles. These tools can be of help to technicians and may permit customization for particular owner preferences. Also if the vehicle is being shipped to another country, the "Rest-of-World" features can be selected prior to shipment.

ACCESS TO PROGRAM FEATURES

The information features incorporated into the radio head are simple to access. Without turning on the ignition switch, turn on the radio by pushing the Volume/Power switch. The first tier of Information screens will be available.

A second tier of radio code features can be accessed by turning the ignition key to the ON position. Be cautious, because accessing this feature will TURN ON the radio code feature on vehicles where it was not active before. The code is required to deactivate this feature.

Refer to Fig 2 and 3 to obtain an overview of the various button combination options and their function.
