BRAKELIGHT Switch: Removal

Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove lower trim panel under steering column. Disconnect brakelight switch 4-pin connector. Depress brake pedal enough to gain access to switch. Pull switch locking sleeve and plunger fully forward, and remove switch rearward. Switch may be difficult to remove if sleeve in not positioned fully forward.
