DTC P0088: Injector Control Pressure Too High: General Description

The FRPS (Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor) provides a feedback signal to indicate the fuel rail pressure so the ECM can command the correct injector timing and pulse width for correct fuel delivery at all speed and load conditions.

The ECM operates the fuel pressure control valve with the signal from the fuel rail pressure sensor to control optimized RPM and rail pressure.

The high pressure GDI fuel pump increases pressure from the low pressure system. The fuel pressure regulator controls the fuel pressure from 40 (4 MPa/580.15 psi) to 150 bar (15 MPa/2175.57 psi). Under the abnormal condition of the high pressure fuel system, the PCM controls fuel system using the high side pressure regulator (spill valve) to a predetermined value.
