Solenoid, Fuel Quantity: Removal
- Disconnect the negative battery cable
- Remove the charge air inlet hose.
- Remove the nuts (8) and fuel injection pump blocker (7).
- Disconnect the fuel quantity solenoid wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the fasteners (3) and the fuel quantity solenoid (2) from the back of the fuel injection pump.NOTE:
Inspect the fuel quantity solenoid and fuel injection pump passage for contamination or corrosion. If contamination or corrosion is present replace the fuel injection pump.
- Inspect the solenoid and pump for corrosion.
- Install a protective cap into fuel injection pump fuel line fittings.
