Removal & Installation (Grand Cherokee)
- Remove lower steering column cover. Lower steering column. Disconnect BTSI cable solenoid connector. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Depress lock tab holding cable end to steering column. See Figure . Pull cable end from steering cable.
- Remove shift interlock cable from steering column. Remove floor console and related trim. Disconnect shift interlock cable from shifter assembly. Remove cable from any retaining clips. Remove cable from vehicle. To install cable, reverse removal procedure. Adjust cable after installation. See SHIFT INTERLOCK CABLE under ADJUSTMENTS.
