Power Door Lock Test 2D - Shorted Door Unlock Driver Circuit
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Plymouth Breeze, 1996 Dodge Stratus, and 1996 Chrysler Cirrus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 2A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION section in this article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect BCM 20-pin connector located at junction block and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance of BCM 20-pin connector terminals No. 1 (Pink/Light Blue wire), No. 2 (Pink/Dark Blue wire), No. 3 (Pink/Black wire) and No. 4 (Dark Blue/White wire).
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair shorted door unlock driver circuit, replace fuse No. 9 and replace BCM (relay in BCM will be damaged). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater on any of tested circuits, replace BCM.
