Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION section before disconnecting battery.
- If scan tool is not available, go to step 3). If scan tool is available, press "1" key selecting FUEL/IGNITION. Press "2" key selecting READ CODES. Press down arrow key, selecting next screen. Press "2" key, selecting ERASE.
- Scan tool will display ERASE CODES ARE YOU SURE? (ENTER TO ERASE). Press ENTER key. When scan tool is finished erasing DTCs, screen will display CODES ERASED.
- Fault codes may be cleared by disconnecting negative battery cable for at least 15 seconds, allowing PCM to clear DTCs.
