Test Dr-22B - "A/C Clutch Relay Circuit"

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
  1. Using DRB-II, actuate ASD fuel system test. Place DRB-II in voltmeter mode. Probe Orange/Dark Blue wire at A/C relay connector terminal. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Orange/Dark Blue wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect and inspect engine controller connector. Repair connector if damaged. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  . If connector is okay, place DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe Dark Blue/Red wire at engine controller connector terminal No. 34. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  . If resistance is 10 ohms or more, go to next step.
  3. Using a DVOM, check resistance of Dark Blue/Red wire between engine controller connector terminal No. 34 and A/C relay connector terminal. If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open Dark Blue/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Reconnect A/C clutch relay. Turn ignition on. Connect a jumper wire between ground and Pink wire at engine controller connector terminal No. 51. Place DRB-II in voltmeter mode. Probe Dark Blue/Red wire at engine controller connector terminal No. 34. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace engine controller. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  . If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace A/C clutch relay. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  .
