Preliminary Inspection

NOTE: Before any testing is attempted the battery should be fully charged and all connections and pins cleaned and tightened to ensure proper continuity and grounds.

NOTE: With the dome light on, apply switch in direction of the failure. If the dome light dims, the seat may be jamming. Check for binding or obstructions. If the dome light does not dim, them proceed with the following electrical tests.

Verify customer complaint by operating the power seat system. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage. Inspect for blown fuses and damaged relays. Inspect for loose or corroded connections, damaged wiring harnesses and/or switches. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation, which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment is properly installed. If fault is found, repair as necessary. If no fault is found, see SYSTEM TESTS .
