Entering Or Exiting Diagnostic Mode

  1. Turn ignition switch on, but do not start engine. "CHECK ENGINE" lamp should glow. Locate diagnostic connectors in engine compartment, on left shock tower. Insert jumper wire between "TEST" terminal (6) and "GROUND" terminal (7) of diagnostic connector "D2". See Fig 1 .
CAUTION: Inserting jumper wire in terminals of diagnostic connector "D2", grounds "TEST" terminal lead. DO NOT ground diagnostic connector until after ignition is turned on or engine is started.
