Armature Test

Check continuity between each commutator segment. If no continuity exists, replace armature. Check continuity between commutator and shaft. If continuity exists, replace armature. Use a dial indicator to check runout of commutator and armature. If commutator runout is more than .004" (.10 mm), correct by turning commutator on a lathe or replace. If armature runout is more than .004" (.10 mm), replace armature. See STARTER SPECIFICATIONS  .
