Test Procedure (Non-Turbo)

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from MAF sensor. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at harness connector Green/White wire. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair Green/White wire between harness connector and MFI control relay.
  2. With ignition off, unplug ECM connector. Test for continuity between each remaining harness connector terminals (Green/Red and Black/Light Green wires) and appropriate ECM harness connector terminals. Also test for short to ground or to other wires. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS  section. If wires are okay, go to next step. Repair either wire as necessary.
  3. Test for continuity between MAF sensor harness connector Black wire and ground. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair Black wire between harness connector and ground.
  4. Temporarily substitute known good MAF sensor, then retest system. If MAF sensor is okay, temporarily substitute known good ECM, then retest system.
