DTC B1414  : GPS Antenna Disconnected

B1414 GPS antenna disconnected  

DTCs (Telematics System)

NOTE:  Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -3. Open the driver's door, and wait more than 1 minute.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Wait for at least 1 minute.

    -6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
    B1414 GPS antenna disconnected  

    Is DTC B1414 indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

  2. Determine possible failure area (GPS (telematics) antenna, others)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Open the driver's door, and wait more than 1 minute.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Roof antenna connector C (4P)

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle ON mode
      Roof antenna connector C (4P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Roof antenna connector C (4P) (male terminals) No. 1:
    Test point 2 Roof antenna connector C (4P) (male terminals) No. 3:

    Is there about 3.0 V - 3.6 V?

    YES 

    Replace the roof antenna .

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. Open wire check (SH (GPS ANT (TEL)) line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Open the driver's door, and wait more than 1 minute.

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Roof antenna connector C (4P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Roof antenna connector C (4P) (male terminals) No. 3:
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The SH (GPS ANT (TEL)) wire is not open. Go to step 4.

    NO 

    There is an open in the wire. Replace the affected antenna lead.

  4. Open wire check (GPS ANT (TEL) line)

    -1. Disconnect the following connector.

    Telematics control unit connector C (4P)

    -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Roof antenna connector C (4P): disconnected
      Telematics control unit connector C (4P)
    Test point 1 Roof antenna connector C (4P) (male terminals) No. 1:
    Test point 2 Telematics control unit connector C (4P) No. 2

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Replace the telematics control unit .

    NO 

    There is an open in the wire. Replace the affected antenna lead.
