DTC P0461 : Fuel Level Sensor (Fuel Gauge Sending Unit) Circuit Range/Performance Problem
NOTE:
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
- Because it requires 33.1 miles (50.0 km) of driving without refueling to complete this diagnosis, DTC P0461 cannot be duplicated during this troubleshooting.
- DTC P0461 may be stored due to the following:

Repeated small amounts of refueling

Fuel draining during repairs
- -
Constant cornering or driving on a sloping road for a certain time

DTC (PGM-FI)
- Customer usage check
-1. Ask the customer about their refueling method.
Has the vehicle been repeatedly refilled with less than 5.0 L (1.3 US gal) at each refuel?
YES
Direct the customer on the proper refilling conditions in the How to Refuel section of the owner's manual.
NO
Go to step 2.
- Fuel gauge sending unit performance check
-1. Test the fuel gauge sending unit .
Is the fuel gauge sending unit OK?
YES
Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the fuel gauge sending unit and the gauge control module. If the on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the on-board snapshot .
