Wireless Charger (2019 2020 2021)
Overview
Some models come equipped with the wireless charger. The wireless charger can charge the battery like a smartphone that is placed on top of the wireless charger, without the charging cable. This system uses the law of electromagnetic induction.
Basic Control
The wireless charger system begins to charge a battery of a wireless device (like a smartphone) as soon as it detects the device on the wireless charger. The charger receives the radio frequency signal from the audio unit or the infotainment control unit via B-CAN. Charging frequency is controlled so that it will not interfere with the receiving frequency of the radio. When a remote communicates to the keyless access/TPMS control unit by LF communication, the charger momentarily stops charging so it will not interfere with the keyless access system. The following conditions will stop battery charging:
- When the battery of the device becomes full
- When an object is placed between the charger and the wireless device that prevents detection
- When the wireless device is placed out of the charging area
