Front Passenger's Door Switch Circuit Troubleshooting
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- With the front passenger's door closed, select SECURITY with the HDS, and enter the DATA LIST.
- Check the ON/OFF information of the FRONT PASSENGER'S DOOR SWITCH in the DATA LIST.
Is information indicator ON?
YES -Go to step 4.
NO -Go to step 9.
- Remove the front passenger's door switch.
- Disconnect the front passenger's door switch 1P connector.
- Check for continuity between front passenger's door switch 1P connector and switch ground.

Is there no continuity when the switch is pushed, and is there continuity when the switch is released?
YES -Go to step 7.
NO -Replace the front passenger's door switch.
- Disconnect under-dash fuse/relay box connector H (14P).
- Check for continuity between under-dash fuse/relay box connector H (14P) terminal No. 12 and body ground.Fig 2: Checking For Continuity Between Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Connector H (14P) Terminal No. 12 And Body Ground

Is there continuity?
YES -Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO -Faulty MICU; replace the under-dash fuse/relay box (see REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
- Remove the front passenger's door switch.
- Disconnect the front passenger's door switch 1P connector.
- Check for continuity between front passenger's door switch 1P connector and switch ground.

Is there no continuity when the switch is pushed, and is there continuity when the switch is released?
YES -Go to step 12.
NO -Replace the front passenger's door switch.
- Connect passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box connector H (14P) terminal No. 12 and body ground with a jumper wire.
- Check the ON/OFF information of the FRONT PASSENGER'S DOOR SWITCH in the DATA LIST.
Is information indicator ON?
YES -Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
NO -Faulty MICU; replace the under-dash fuse/relay box (see REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
