Front Seat Frame Replacement

Special Tools Required

KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014*

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.

Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization (see ODS UNIT INITIALIZATION ) after front passenger's seat frame replacement.

NOTE:

If the side airbag has deployed, replace the seat frame and related parts with new ones (see COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/INSPECTION AFTER DEPLOYMENT ).
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.

Remove the front seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Remove these items:
- Front seat-back cover/pad (see FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT )
- Front seat cushion cover/pad (see FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER REPLACEMENT )
- Seat belt buckle (see FRONT SEAT BELT BUCKLE )
- Driver's seat: Seat position sensor (see DRIVER'S SEAT POSITION SENSOR )
- Side airbag (see SIDE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT )
Driver's seat: Detach the clips, then remove the outer cover (A).

Driver's seat: Detach the clip, then remove the inner cover (A).

Remove the recline inner cover (A) and the center inner cover (B) from the seat frame (C).

Driver's seat: Release the hooks (A), and remove the rear gear outer cover (B) and the rear gear inner cover (C).

Install the seat frame in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
