SERVICE INFORMATION

EDITOR'S NOTE:  This article replaces "New IMA Motor Rotor Puller Shipped to All Dealers," issued in February 2009  .

The IMA motor rotor has really strong magnets and needs special handling to safely remove and install it. Always use a rotor puller (T/N 07YAC-PHM010C). It's a required special tool, and we sent one to every dealer in February 2009  .

Here's what it looks like:

G08267088

This tool supersedes T/N 07YAC-PHM010B. It's actually the same tool, but the foam insert now includes a circular cutout that makes it easier to store the heavily magnetized motor rotor after removal.

And just so you know, we recently sent every dealer a new  foam insert (T/N 07AAK-TR2A100). Make sure you remove and discard the current insert, and replace it with this new one. It's got a slightly larger circular cutout to handle the larger motor rotor that's used by '12 Civic Hybrids.
