Engine Lubrication System: Notes

Oil pump is a rotor-type, driven by the crankshaft and located behind crankshaft sprocket. Oil is supplied to crankshaft and pumped through a vertical passage to cylinder head components. Oil pressure relief valve is located in oil pump housing. As oil pressure is relieved, oil is diverted through valve, back to oil pan.
