THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH (PRIZM EXCEPT GSi)

With battery disconnected, disconnect switch electrical connection. Note TPS terminal identification. See Fig 1 . Install proper thickness feeler gauge between stop screw and lever.
Using ohmmeter, check continuity between designated terminals. Adjust or replace switch if it is not within specification. See THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH CONTINUITY .

Between Terminals E2 & IDL ⁽²⁾⁽³⁾

Continuity

Between Terminals E2 & IDL ⁽³⁾⁽⁴⁾

No Continuity

⁽¹⁾	Rotate throttle switch to obtain correct continuity.

⁽²⁾	With .028" (.71 mm) feeler gauge installed between stop screw and lever.

⁽³⁾	E2 terminal is Brown wire and IDL terminal is Blue wire.

⁽⁴⁾	With .032" (.81 mm) feeler gauge installed between stop screw and lever.
