Water Pump Inlet Connector
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the right front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the generator. Refer to GENERATOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the belt tensioner. Refer to TENSIONER, BELT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the band clamp (1) and the radiator coolant outlet hose from the connector.
- Remove the bolt (1) securing the pipe to the engine oil cooler.
- Remove the two bolts (2) and the water pump inlet connector.
- Remove the O-ring (1) from the oil cooler pipe.
- Remove the sealing gasket (1) from the inlet connector.
INSTALLATION
- Inspect the water pump inlet connector for damage.
- Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
- Install a NEW
O-ring seal (1) on the oil cooler pipe.
- Install a NEW gasket (1) on the inlet connector.
- Install the water pump inlet connector and tighten the bolts to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the pipe to the engine oil cooler and tighten the bolt to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the radiator coolant outlet hose and tighten the band clamp.
- Install the belt tensioner. Refer to TENSIONER, BELT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the generator. Refer to GENERATOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the right front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
