Exterior Light Test 8A - High Beam Headlights Will Not Turn Off
NOTE:
Perform EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Remove high beam relay from junction block. Junction block is located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. If high beam headlights turn off, go to next step. If high beam headlights do not turn off, repair high beam relay output for short to voltage.
- Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal "C" on high beam relay socket. If voltage is one volt or less, replace high beam relay. If voltage is more than one volt, go to next step.
- Disconnect multifunction switch 7-pin connector. See Figure in CHIME TEST 5A. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 7 (White/Light Green wire) on multifunction switch harness connector. If voltage is one volt or less, replace multifunction switch. If voltage is more than one volt, repair White/Light Green wire for short to voltage.
