Sensor, Crankshaft Position: Removal: 3.6L

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove bolts (1) and the belly pan.

    NOTE:

    The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is mounted into the right rear side of the cylinder block.

  4. Push back the heat shield (1) from the crankshaft CKP sensor.
  5. If equipped with All Wheel Drive (AWD) you must remove the front propeller shaft to gain access to the CKP. Refer to REMOVAL .

  6. Disconnect the CKP sensor wire harness connector (1).

  7. Remove bolt (2) the CKP sensor (1) from the cylinder block.
