Test 12: Battery Was Disconnected
- If battery has recently been disconnected or has gone dead, or if TCM has been disconnected or replaced, erase DTC. Testing is complete. If none of the above is true, go to next step.
- If QUICK LEARN or QUICK BATTERY DISCONNECT has been performed using scan tool, erase DTC. Testing is complete. If the above procedures have not been performed, go to next step.
- Load test battery and check charging system. Repair as necessary. If battery and charging system are okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect battery cables and TCM harness connector. Measure resistance between positive battery cable and fused B+ (battery positive) circuit at TCM harness connector. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in fused B+ (battery positive) circuit. If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between chassis ground and both ground circuits at TCM harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms at both ground circuits, conditions necessary to set DTC 12 are not present at this time. If resistance is not as specified, repair open in appropriate ground circuit.
