Windshield Wiper Test 2G - Wipers Not Working At All
NOTE:
Perform VTSS TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in appropriate BODY CONTROL COMPUTER section in this article. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS at the end of article. Perform TEST VER-1A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Remove HI/LO relay. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals "C" and "E" of HI/LO wiper relay. See Figure of WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2A. If resistance is 65-90 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 65-90 ohms, replace HI/LO wiper relay and replace fuse No. 15.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals "C" and "E" of intermittent wiper relay. See Figure of WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2A. If resistance is not 65-90 ohms, replace intermittent wiper relay and replace fuse No. 15. If resistance is 65-90 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect right multifunction switch 7-pin connector. See Figure in INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 5G. Using external ohmmeter, check resistance of right multifunction switch 7-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Dark Blue wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace multi-function switch and fuse No. 15. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue wire between fuse No. 15 (10-amp) and right multifunction switch 7-pin connector terminal No. 1, and replace fuse No. 15.
