Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Powertrain Unit

    NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

  1. Unsupport the powertrain unit and push the powertrain unit (1) in driving direction to get access for the exhaust front pipe installation.

  3. Install NEW Exhaust Front Pipe Gasket (2)
  4. NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

  5. While the second technician is holding the powertrain unit, install the exhaust front pipe (1).
  6. After the installation of the exhaust front pipe, release the powertrain unit and support it.

  8. Install a NEW transmission mount strut bolt (1) and tighten to:
    1. First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: 90 - 105 degrees, use the EN-45059  meter
  9. Unsupport the powertrain unit.

  11. Install NEW Exhaust Front Pipe Gasket (3)
  12. CAUTION:

    Do not bend the exhaust flex pipe more than 10 degrees in any direction. Bending of more than 10 degrees or twisting in a range of ±0.5 degrees will damage the exhaust flex decoupler.

  13. Install Exhaust Front Pipe (1) @Catalytic Converter (2)
  14. Install Exhaust Front Pipe Nut (4) and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  16. Install the 3 exhaust muffler to front pipe nuts (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  18. Install Exhaust Temperature Sensor - Position 3 (1) @Exhaust Front Pipe (2) and tighten 45 N.m (33 lb ft)

    CAUTION:

    Do not bend the exhaust flex pipe more than 10 degrees in any direction. Bending of more than 10 degrees or twisting in a range of ±0.5 degrees will damage the exhaust flex decoupler.

    NOTE:

    Do NOT bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position.

  20. Install Exhaust Particulate Sensor (2) and tighten 45 N.m (33 lb ft) - Use the special tool: EN-6179  wrench

  22. Clean the sealing surface of the emission reduction fluid injector.
  23. NOTE:

    Press the sticky side of the gasket on the sealing surface of the injector.

  24. Install a NEW gasket.(3)
  25. Install Emission Reduction Fluid Injector (1)
  26. Install Emission Reduction Fluid Injector Nut (2) and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  28. Connect the electrical connector.(2)
  29. Remove the tightness tool from the emission reduction fluid exhaust front pipe injector supply pipe (1).
  30. Connect Emission Reduction Fluid Exhaust Front Pipe Injector Supply Pipe (1)
  31. Install Front Wheelhouse Liner - Right Side Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement
  32. Lower the vehicle.
