EGR By-Pass Check Valve

  1. Disconnect all vacuum line and harness connector from EGR by-pass check valve. Measure resistance between EGR by-pass check valve terminals. If resistance is 37-44 ohms at 68°F (20°C), go to next step. If resistance is not 37-44 ohms at 68°F (20°C), replace EGR by-pass check valve.
  2. Apply battery voltage across EGR by-pass check valve terminals. Blow air into center vacuum port. Air should escape from top vacuum port and not from bottom vacuum port. If valve operates as described, EGR by-pass check valve is okay at this time. If valve does not operate as described, replace EGR by-pass check valve.
