Brake Indicator Lights Continuously With No Loss Of Serial Data & Parking Brake Released

  1. Using scan tool, monitor BFC parking brake input. If parking brake input is OFF, go to next step. If parking brake input is ON, diagnose problem in audible warning system. See appropriate wiring diagram in WARNING SYSTEMS article.
  2. Using scan tool, monitor BFC SPI serial data bus. If BFC is commanding BRAKE indicator ON, replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . If BFC is not commanding BRAKE indicator ON, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT PANEL article.
