Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery)
Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Remove the right front wheelhouse liner. Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Cadillac)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Chevrolet)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (GMC)

Battery Positive Cable Nut (1)@Starter Solenoid - Remove
Generator Battery Control Wiring Harness (2) - Remove
Electrical Connector (3) - Disconnect

Starter Heat Shield Fastener (1) - Remove
Starter Heat Shield Fastener (2) - Remove [2x]
Starter Heat Shield (3) - Remove
