Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool to data link connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Disconnect memory switch connector. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. If DTC B2241 resets after 30 seconds, go to next step. If DTC B2241 does not reset after 30 seconds, go to step  5 .
  3. Check for short in Purple or White/Black wire between memory switch and Left Front Power Window Switch (LFPWS). See appropriate wiring diagram in appropriate MEMORY SYSTEMS article. Repair as necessary and go to step  6 . If Purple and White/Black wire circuits test okay, go to next step.
  4. Replace LFPWS. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to step  6 .
  5. Replace memory switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  6. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Reconnect or install any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Clear any DTCs. Recheck system operation.
