DTC 43 - Right Front TCS Prime Valve Solenoid Fault: Notes
All of the ABS and TCS valves are located within the BPM valve. When the ignition is on, the valve relay located within the EBTCM, is activated, which then applies voltage to all of the valve solenoids. The EBTCM controls each individual solenoid by applying a ground to its solenoid as it is needed.
DTC 43 sets when expected position of right front TCS prime valve solenoid does not match commanded position from EBTCM. Conditions that could cause DTC 43 to set are damage to valve or solenoid, open circuit, or short to ground or battery voltage.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Checks if DTC 71 was set concurrently with valve DTC.
- Checks condition of EBTCM to BPMV connector and for internal brake fluid leaks.
- Checks for integrity of affected valve solenoid circuit internal to BPMV, and the valve solenoid coil.
- Checks for solenoid circuit short to ground (BPMV case).
- Uses the Tech 1 scan tool to exercise the affected solenoid valve and check it for proper operation.
- Checks for continued DTC setting after validating that the circuit and solenoid valves are okay. If DTC resets, the EBTCM is faulty.
