Code C339, Loss Of Radio Data

Code 339 will set if CRTC cannot communicate with the radio when ignition is ON and CRTC is sending a message to radio that requires radio to send a response back.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Determines if problem is in data loop or radio circuitry.
  2. Determines if common power ground feeds were lost or if problem is in data loop.
  3. Determines if data loop is shorted to ground or if loop is open, isolating CRTC.
  4. Determines if problem is in ignition versus a power circuit or device problem, or ground circuit problem.
  5. Determines if problem is in power circuit or device.
  6. Determines if problem is in ignition circuit or ground.
  7. Determines if problem is in device or opens in data loop.
NOTE: If both radio and tape deck codes are set, look for common problem in power, ground, ignition, or data.
