61 12 460 Removing and installing/replacing charging power socket

Special tools required: 

WARNING:

High-voltage system - danger to life!

The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work  :

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Removal: 

Release screws (1).

Release screw (2) and remove retaining plate (3).

Release screws (1).

Feed out charging socket cover (2).

Release screw for ground cable.

Feed out charging socket cover (1) and high-voltage alternator cable on holder (2).

Unclip high-voltage alternator cable (1).

Unclip tensioning strap of emergency release.

Unlock high-voltage alternator cable (1) on convenience charging electronics (2) and disconnect.

Release high-voltage alternator cable (1) from clip using special tool 2 298 505 .

Unlock high-voltage alternator cable (1) on convenience charging electronics (2) and disconnect.

Release high-voltage alternator cable (1) from clip using special tool 2 298 505 .

Feed out high voltage alternator cable (1).

Installation: 

Feed in high voltage alternator cable (1).

Clip in high-voltage-alternator cable (1) up to convenience charging electronics (2).

Connect high-voltage alternator cable (1) with convenience charging electronics (2).

Clip in high-voltage alternator cable (1).

Connect all connectors (1) with the charging socket cover.

Feed in charging socket cover (1) and high-voltage alternator cable on holder (2).

Clip in high-voltage alternator cable.

Screw on ground cable tightly.

NOTE: Tensioning strap on emergency release must be positioned with angle facing upwards and away from actuator.

Tighten charging socket cover (2) with screws (1).

Add retaining plate (3) and tighten with screw (2).

Tighten down screws (1).
