Hydraulic pump for Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), removing and installing: Removing

See Caution before beginning repairs on the electrical system. See ELECTRONIC STABILIZATION PROGRAM (ESP) BOSCH 5.3 .

Disconnect battery.
See BATTERY DISCONNECT PRECAUTIONS .

WARNING: Brake lines must not be bent.
Raise vehicle.
Remove left front wheel.
Remove front half of left front wheel housing liner.
Unscrew retaining plate for fan resistors.

NOTE:

Disengage intake hose -1- from hose clamp and remover. See Fig 3 .
Unscrew brake lines -2- and -3-.

Seal brake lines and threaded holes using plugs from repair kit, Part No. 1H0 698 311 A.
Remove connector and disconnect connector.
Open cable ties.
Remove hex-nut.
Push hydraulic pump out of rear buffers in direction of arrow -A-. See Fig 4 .
Unscrew lower bonded rubber bushing from pump.
Remove pump -3- in direction of arrow B.
